Ear fluff...
I have always liked Brian Eno as a musician and ideas man, and I am fascinated by the recent trend in generative music programmes. The iPod/iPhone seem perfectly suited to explorations of this kind and Bloom is certainly a well crafted example. Where it falls short is in the limited voice (a kind of ethereal piano tone) available to ones fingers as you tap out your progressions on the screen; a few other sounds would make this a more satisfying toy. The moods available also lack some depth and drama. All in all, this is a relaxing experience, with its subtle pastel hues and dreamy soundscape, but without more variety of playable sounds I dont think it is particularly good value for money. The free version of RjDj offers a great deal more in entertainment value in my opinion.
